What Is ResurFX™ Laser Treatment Used For

ResurFX™ is the next generation of laser skin resurfacing, delivering exceptional long lasting results. It can be taken as a lunchtime appointment of around 30 minutes and requires no down time in most cases.

ResurFX™ triggers the production of collagen – a vital protein that provides structural support to the skin to improve elasticity and firmness. It can help with a range of concerns that are common to ageing skin including:

Why Choose ResurFX™ Laser Treatment

When it comes to fractional laser skin resurfacing, ResurFX™ stands out as a superior solution that combines effectiveness, safety, and minimal discomfort:

  • ResurFX™ is a non-ablative laser, meaning it doesn’t harm the top layer of the skin like traditional skin resurfacing lasers do. Instead it works with the underlying skin tissue to produce new collagen and achieve longer term rejuvenation and a more youthful appearance.

  • The fractional laser requires a single pass over the skin rather than multiple passes and its intensity can be adjusted to accommodate different skin sensitivities and ensure minimal discomfort.

  • ResurFX™ has been clinically tested and proven to deliver noticeable improvements in skin texture, tone, and appearance. Many people report significant reduction in fine lines, acne scars, and pigmentation irregularities after ResurFX™ treatments.

  • Unlike less advanced laser treatments, ResurFX™ requires minimal downtime so you’re able to resume regular activities straight after treatment in most cases.

  • ResurFX™ is able to precisely target specific areas such as an area of scar tissue, while leaving the surrounding tissue untouched.

  • ResurFX™ is safe and effective for a wide range of skin types including fair and darker skin tones, making it accessible to more people.

How ResurFX™ Laser Treatment Works

ResurFX™ uses advanced fractional laser technology to restore ageing and damaged skin.

The ResurFX™ laser uses microscopic laser beams that are as fine as a strand of hair to penetrate deep into the skin while leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected.

This triggers the body’s natural healing response which stimulates the production of collagen and the growth of healthy new skin. The result is tighter, healthier, smoother skin and a more radiant appearance.

What to Expect Before, During, and After Treatment

Before treatment you’re required to have a consultation with one of our cosmetic medicine team to assess your skin concerns and understand your goals. They will explain the laser treatment in detail, answer your questions and provide instructions on how to prepare for it, which may include avoiding sun exposure and certain skincare products.

During treatment your skin will be cleansed, and a topical anaesthetic may be applied to reduce discomfort. The ResurFX™ handpiece will be gently guided over the treatment area delivering laser energy to the skin. Most patients describe the treatment as tolerable with minimal to moderate discomfort. Treatments last around 20-30 minutes.

After treatment you may experience a mild sunburn sensation that usually subsides within a few hours. Your clinician will provide post-treatment care instructions, which may include avoiding direct sunlight, using gentle skincare products, and applying sunscreen. Make-up can be applied immediately after treatment.

Over the next few days and weeks, you’ll notice improvements in your skin with it feeling firmer with a smoother, brighter surface. Results typically last 6-12 months.

To obtain optimal results from your laser skin resurfacing, we generally recommend having 3-5 sessions at an interval of 4-6 weeks apart.

Additionally we suggest you follow an advanced skincare regime prescribed by our skin therapist to further enhance and prolong your results.

To determine if ResurFX™ is right for you, please schedule a consultation with one of our clinicians. They will evaluate your skin and medical history to provide personalised recommendations based on your unique needs.
