Follow-Up Treatment Appointment

Treatment may be required at this visit, so please ensure you meet the treatment requirements below.

If you have treatment, you will be asked to walk for 30 minutes after your appointment so please allow enough time in your day to accommodate this.

If you wish to reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice. Changes made with less than 24 hours notice may incur a fee.

Before Your Appointment

International Travel

• Wait at least 1 week after any international flight before having treatment.
• After treatment, wait at least 2 weeks before flying internationally again.

Compression Stockings

• Bring your compression sock(s) with you — you will need them if treatment is carried out.
• After treatment:
  • Wear socks full-time (day and night) for 3 days.
  • Then during the daytime only for 4 more days.

Activity

• Walk for at least 1 hour per day after treatment (this can be done as two 30-minute walks).
• IMPORTANT: If you have treatment, you must walk for 30 minutes immediately after your appointment so please allow enough time in your day to accommodate this.
• No lifting, heavy exercise, or straining for 1 week after treatment.

Aftercare

• Apply ice, use topical or oral anti-inflammatories (like ibuprofen), and/or creams such as Hirudoid for tender areas.
• Use Bruise Eze on areas with brown staining.
